SHROUDED MOON

shrouded moon
Russet
And
Charcoal
Tinged
Clouds
Made a
Slow pass
Added, an
Air of mystery
Veiled, the
Man-in-the moon

No, no, no
You’ve got it all wrong!
It’s lignite, blended with anthracite
You have absolutely no taste
Said my inner artiste
Throw in some malachite accents
Then, you’ve really got something!

MISSISSIPPI MOONRISE

Mississippi moonlightOrange-tinted moonlight
Reflected, in tidal flats
Bi-valves gulped, through
Holes in beach sand

Bullied, broken shells
Unattached, sand grains
Drifted, with each
Ingress and egress

Capricious, waters
Continued onslaught
Until, sweet truces’
Final sigh
