17th Street Bridge Song

Re-write of a post from two years ago.

————————————————————————–

The name “FIFI”

Appeared among

Petroglyph–like

Graffiti–painted

On concrete columns

And cross beams

Lyrics of life

Extolled conquests

Tales of bravery

Of those, thought

To be in control

Of their destinies

Rain, wind

Mist and fog

Vagaries of nature

Held the future

In her calloused hands

Knew the truth
