GETTING OLDER

A reflective post from last year.

lonely shed in field

Standing alone–staring

In a cornstalk field

With dark plowed furrows

Like worry lines–nothing there

Except memories–rows of trees

Marked boundaries–never crossed

An abandoned, rusty-roofed shed

Falling down from disrepair

Used to mean something

To somebody–that’s long gone

Had nothing to do, but get older
